PIR : The Principles for Investment Reporting represent the work of CFA Institute and its Investment Reporting Working Group (IRWG). Investment reporting continues to be the most valuable tool for communicating investment information. The Principles for Investment Reporting aims to address the lack of transparency that can occur when providing investment reporting to asset owners :

  • Treatment of complex technical issues
  • Anticipation of regulatory trends

The principles are separate from the well-established GIPS standards.

GIPS (Global Investment Performance Standards) are a rigorous set of investment performance measurement standards adopted in 37 countries and recognized around the world for their unparalleled credibility, integrity, scope, and uniformity, enabling investors to directly compare a firm’s track record with other firms.
